When try to search hosts by inventory field on Inventory->Hosts page result does not contain all hosts, because in hostinventories.php hosts selected with limit option (frontend's global "Search/Filter elements limit").
If user has much more hosts than the limit parameter, then frontend most likely will not display all hosts.
