it looks like some longer log entries may end up being trimmed at 120KB.
that's a bad thing, and made worse by the fact that it also lacks newline, and the next entry ends up being appended to the leftovers of the last line of the previous entry.

data length from the beginning of the entry (in this case, starting with " 15452:20130303:084044.000 [Z3005] query failed: [1205] Lock wait timeout exceeded") till the very end of this entry (where it is trimmed) is exactly 120KB

i'd suggest increasing this limit, but some limit might still be necessary.

• should it be configurable ?
• what happens if it's exceeded ? there should be some indicator for this, and a proper newline added. maybe text like "log entry limit of 256KB reached" (being careful not to trim this message itself ) ?
