      Hello,
ive got a problem with Zabbix 1.8.11 in my Networkmanagement Project.
I set up a Zabbix Server on a Linux Unix Server, where i want to manage a Switch.
The Switch is configured with SNMPv2c and SNMPv3.

I have another Client, where we got a MiB Browser installed and we can recieve OID information.from SNMPv2c or SNMPv3 (so SNMPv2c / SNMPv3 is working).

When i configured the Switch on the Webinterface in Zabbix with SNMPv2c then its working. All charts are working too. I can see the data in wireshark that is sent between Zabbix Server and the Switch,

but when i change the Items to SNMPv3 and auth/priv (with the correct SNMPv3 Username, auth and priv pw, then the error message occurs "Couldnt connect to host". the trigger says "agent unavailible".

In Wireshark i only see one out of three SNMPv3 requests (every request is another Item). There is only the sysContact. And in the package itself, there is the missing EngineID and no auth/priv passwords are sent.

Once i deleted the trigger and left only one item and it was all green. Zabbix had no errors but the chart/grapic said "no data" and in wireshark were the same error with no EngineID and passwords.

should i update to zabbix 2.0 or is there an error in my configuration?

      regards
