for items of data type text, no values are shown in 'latest data' screen - instead, "..." is shown.
this is quite misleading, as many users have concluded that their items do not work (me including) and looking for problem somewhere else.

either it should display first N ccaarrhtes of the value, or it should display some informative message instead of the data.
