with multiple item support, simple graph url changed from "itemid" to "itemids[n]..." - this breaks previous links.

that was the only way to link to a specific graph, to retrieve graph images (used in various custom dashboards, mobile applications etc), to include graphs of a specific period of time in screens - such a change will break a huge amount of user setups.

we should still support 'itemid'
