if a bug is fixed in branch only (because it does not apply to trunk anymore), quite often trunk changelog is not updated accordingly (for the older version records).
when a new branch is started out, it is copied from trunk, thus changelogs in newer versions are missing entries.

1.6 branch entries are restored, but anything older still has entries missing.
this issue is a reminder/placeholder until somebody gets to reviving the missing entries
