Currently it's not possible to enable\disable compression for History/Trends/Auditlog out of the box separately. Why can be useful:

• "small" instance with requirement to have history for 1-7 days, if TSDB compression is enabled, it will not compress data for this 7 days, but will remove ability to have different storage period for items
• if trends compression is not needed to speedup access without compression (trends are rather small in general)

This is not related to chunks itself, they should be used, even if compression is not enabled.
