I would like to request two feature request within the Host Inventory section.

 

As in the 8.0  version the Customizable custom host inventory option may come within this feature request.

My request may related for this one as well, but not overlapping it.

 

1. Customize the Host inventory field type.

Within this page we can find the length of the fields.

AS it would be better to see it inside the Zabbix UI same as the Item key. Once we can modify the length of the Host Inventory fields from 64 to 64000 length or vice versa.

Also it would be a great to see to adding multiple column option for a software detailes Host inventory, if the data is collected in a JSON or csv format.

Example:

Name, Vendor, InstallDate,Version, Size

This is just a sample overview of a windows installed applications.

with a column headers we may sort based on A-Z or Z-A.

1. Grouping   the Inventory fields

Currently there are 71 Host Inventory fields where we cannot modify the order of the Inventory fields and cannot grouping them.

That would be a nice look if a grouping option would be there to group a certain Host  Inventory fields and their values with a heading (H2-H6). Also within a group we must define which Host Inventory field must be set as 1,2,3…10 orders.

Example:

 

Operating System (H2)

1. OS Version: Windows Server 2022 Datacenter Edition
2. OS Manufacturer: Microsoft
3. Service Pack: 0
4. Build Number: 6200
5. Country Code? 36
6. Last boot up time: 2025.06.08
7. Language: Eng
8. Organization: Zabbix

Registered User: John Smith

1. System Directory: C:\Windows\System32
2. System Drive: C:

etc.

 

With the Heading Option we can separate the certain of Host Inventory fields. Never the less for screen reader user it is much easier and faster navigation.  As I have to use 71+ Host inventory fields it would be a tedious job to find the right section without grouping.

I know with my example we can gather the data with one WMI.getAll item key, but this would be same as for HW and SW and network related grouping option as well. Because not all of the Win32_WMIquery contains all of the HW related WMI query.

 

 

 

I know Zabbix mainly used for monitoring purposing, but with the last few improvement this tool can be used for Asset management as well.  Thanks for the flexibilities.
