Problem:

Existing focus state styling for interactive UI elements does not give clear enough visual guidance for users, including those with visual impairments who use a keyboard for navigation.

Solution:

A proper focus indicator should:
• Be clearly visible against the element and background
• Have enough contrast (at least 3:1 against adjacent colors)
• Do not rely only on color or box shadow that is barely visible
• Be consistent across the interface so users can build muscle memory
