Hi!
I've noticed that the official MongoDB plugin and template currently only support versions up to MongoDB 5.3.
Since MongoDB 5.0 is already deprecated, the plugin and template would benefit from an update to support more recent MongoDB releases. Beyond version coverage, there are several reasons why an upgrade is important:
- Professionalism and credibility: Supporting only a deprecated MongoDB version gives the impression that the integration is no longer actively maintained.
- Feature compatibility: MongoDB 6.x–8.x introduce new telemetry, metrics, and deprecations that require updated monitoring logic to ensure accurate and complete observability.
- Future-proofing: MongoDB 7.0 is already planned to reach end of life within two years, so it would be ideal to add support for at least 7.0 or preferably 8.0 to avoid the integration falling behind again.
- User adoption: Many organizations have already migrated to later MongoDB versions, which means the current plugin/template is a blocker for those wanting native Zabbix monitoring.
Updating the plugin and template would significantly improve usability and ensure Zabbix remains a reliable choice for modern MongoDB deployments.
Kind regards,
Kevin Rodrigues
