As a human, parsing any but the shortest trigger expressions can be painful. It's like a feasting your eyes on a giant wall of text. This Feature Request is yet another one in the long list of requests to improve the experience of dealing with trigger expressions. 

My request is (possibly) a small one, and is already possible with Expression Macros. When writing trigger expressions in templates, I want to be able to drop the template name.
e.g. last(//vfs.file.size[file1.txt])

This alone would remove SO MUCH of the noise when parsing trigger expressions.
