.net web sites validate a page token stored in a hidden variable called __VIEWSTATE. This must be posted and validated for all form submissions in a user session. Without this, .net web sites cannot use the Scenario - Steps feature.

I believe this also applies to Ruby and enterprise Java web sites (JBoss, etc.)
