      Summary:
We would like to ask whether it would be possible to provide an official Podman monitoring template compatible with Zabbix 7 LTS, in addition to the version planned for Zabbix 8.

      Context:

      • The current Podman template is primarily targeting Zabbix 8.
      • We understand that fixes and improvements are planned for the Zabbix 8 release.
      • However, many production environments are still running Zabbix 7 LTS.

      Blocking point:
Changing only the YAML export version does not make the v8 template truly compatible with Zabbix 7 LTS.
There are functional differences between the two versions, including:

      • nested LLD (v8 mechanism) is not available in v7
      • value_type: JSON is not supported in v7
      • some v8 template wizard/metadata fields are not recognized as-is in v7

      Impact:

      • No official Podman template that can be directly used in production on Zabbix 7 LTS
      • Need to maintain local/custom adaptations
      • Increased maintenance effort and functional risk for LTS environments

      Request:
Would it be possible to provide:

      • either an official Podman template version adapted for Zabbix 7 LTS
      • or an official backport of the v8 template to 7 LTS with equivalent monitoring coverage

      Why this request:
This need has already been raised by multiple users. Supporting Zabbix 7 LTS would enable safer and more reliable Podman monitoring in production while organizations prepare migration to Zabbix 8.
