Using discovery- rules and actions is nice, but that requires either a network scan or an agent.

I would like a feature to use the same rules for existing hosts, regardless of interface, that will automatically link templates to hosts that match the rules on interval.

For example, i have Host A1, Host A2 and Host B1 that will only be monitored by simple checks.
Template A contains the items and triggers i need.

I create a new rule to link Template A to hosts that has a hostname that contains "A".
A background process will then automatically link Template A to Host A1 and Host A2.
