We often use monitoring intervals of 300 seconds and above to save database space and to reduce monitoring overhead.
In some situations it would be a good thing to have the possibility to trigger zabbix item collection manually:

• in critical problem situations to verify that the problem is gone
  (improve SLA measures, to verify that a configuration change/administrative action was successful, ...)
• while developing templates

The recheck feature should be useable on:

• alerted events on the dashboard
• in the "Latest data" view
