a network traffic reduction feature was suggested.
if active agent sees that the new value is the same as the old value ("the same being definable range"), agent does not send anything.
if after a defined period of time value is still the same, agent still sends it (sort of a time threshold).
if server receives such a delayed response, it assumes that all values inbetween were the same and fills them in the database.

when frontend draws a graph for such items, if the time thershold has not passed yet, it draws graph as if these missing values were present, same is true for data returned through the api.
