Zabbix assumes the fping binary to be located in /usr/sbin.

Until older Debian/Ubuntu versions, this was a symlink to /usr/bin/fping, but since Debian Squeeze and at least Ubuntu 10.04, this symlink doesn't exist anymore (therefore one has to configure the path in zabbix_server.conf).

Fedora has fping in /sbin, only OpenSUSE uses /usr/sbin/.

Therefore it would be IMHO better to search in $PATH for the fping executable, as long as the admin didn't explicitly configure a fping path.
