We run a node-based setup - it would be very useful to have the possibility to monitor node connectivity by a zabbix internal check.

Item:

zabbix[proxy,"foo-bar-host",lastaccess]

Trigger:

({Custom - Zabbix - L01:zabbix[proxy,"foo-bar-host",lastaccess].fuzzytime(300)}=0|{Custom - Zabbix - L01:zabbix[proxy,"foo-bar-host",lastaccess].nodata(300)})

On configuration of zabbix-nodes/zabbix-proxies it would be a good thing to automatically create items and triggers for these systems or to inform the user that this will be a good idea
(This will prevent zabbix-users to forget that)
