Loadable module(s) to extend the functionality of Zabbix agent (daemon and standalone), server and proxy

What about having some kind of loadable module(s) to extend the functionality of Zabbix agent by native c functions?

The concept of user parameters is great. Especially for peoples who have more experience in writing batch/shell scripts than for example in c/c++.
But the disadvantages in terms of efficiency and performance are obviously.

It would be great to be able to extend Zabbix agent similar to user parameters by loadable modules as well.
