There should be some limitation in latest data screen, maybe for maximum items shown, it could be some global parameter. Showing all groups and all hosts latest data is very cpu and memory expensive. In our setup, this will run into "Out of memory" in postgresql. I think it is better to stop latest data expansion after some defined number of items and say "There are more datas which are not shown due to limitation" than to kill frontend or SQL engine. Problem is, that all/all setting stays in session and it is not possible to change it BEFORE entering problematic page. It should be user decision how many datas to show, limiting resources of his setup. Another usable setting is "time from in latest data". Again, global setting. Data older than this time would be ignored. This can focus SQL engine to search only one partition, not all.
