There should be a way to get an updated value on a specific Item on request. A run time way to force the check for a new value before the Next Check (scheduled).

Currently, under the Monitoring --> Latest Data, we only see the latest checked value, but it is not possible to ask for a refresh of single values.

Note: we are very happy of the overall functionality offered by Zabbix. However, we are currently evaluating whether to implement Zabbix or a different NMS for our new installation. This will be a very huge installation (with multiple different locations - forcing us to use proxies), and probably we will split the load across several Zabbix servers. We are speaking about monitoring more than 10 Ms of items. This is a blocking functionality for our general use case, and might led us to switch to a different NMS.
