The ability to use host prototypes in situations other then VMWare would be very valuable. We would like to be able to use a discovery script to create new hosts in Zabbix.

However, in order to do so we need to be able to connect to hosts on their native interfaces, hence we need the ability to create interfaces on the host prototypes. In our case the script could send the interface information back as discovery macros.

The IP, DNS and PORT fields need to be updateable with discovery macro's, {#IPADDRESS}, {#DNSNAME} and {#AGENTPORT} for instance.
