It appears that Zabbix maps functionality is missing some very fundamental features which I personally believe would really "polish" this product.

The main issue with maps is the ability to manipulate the position of the label locations along the link. The issue occurs when you have multiple links and they overlap causing the labels to overlap as well thus rendering them useless. This can be overcome by being able either move the position of the label on the link or being able to curve/bend the link (both of these options would dramatically benefit the current maps).
