It would be better if the default update interval when defining new items were set to 300.
People tend to forget to change this, which results in some checks being run too often (once every 30 seconds). This is fine for a few hosts, but if the template is assigned to 1000 hosts it results in an increase of 1000 NVPS.
When I check with those who set the interval to 30, it never have been necessary/intended to have this frequency.

Is changing the default update interval something that could be considered, or at least make it an configurable parameter in Administration?
