When sending monitoring instructions over to a remote proxy, convert the SNMP object name into its OID. This makes managing of huge amount of SNMP MIBs a lot easier.

I would even go as far as translating an SNMP objectName ALWAYS (also on the Server) to its OID as I, very often, have to deal with broken SNMP MIB files that I need to fix manually.
Maybe translate them when the item gets safed, and use the item name as the storage of the MIBs object Name (if entered by the user)
