Admittedly, this isn't well thought out. Originally I was thinking of a new correlation condition "count of events" to just limit the count of active triggers matching a common criteria.

Then I thought it might be easier to implement and also be more useful to have the possibility to show the total number of events currently correlated via a Macro. Such a macro could be resolvable in "Trigger names and descriptions" as well as in "Trigger-based notifications and commands".

The general intention behind this feature request is to still have a clear view on the extend of issues despite of correlation.
