Currently, if a trigger or related item is disabled, and it's status before it happened was PROBLEM then last problem event will be stored until housekeeper will delete it, which by default is 1 year, and in most cases, users do not tend to change it.

It is possible to close any problems manually, but that again requires some manual work:

• First of all, make sure that triggers have enabled manual closing
• That work has to be done manually
• In case of semi-automated API/SQL cleaning again requires some effort from users.

Adding internal function (probably to housekeeper) to automatically close/delete Problem event after specified time period was reached would simplify this task and make Zabbix installations cleaner.
