Sprint 23
Hello,
it would be very nice if the templates are more specific and using the vendor mib for the interfaces (eg is it fiber or copper? bandwith utilisation etc) and use the generic template only for switches that don't have a template already or where this interface-thing is not supported.
some examples:
for some floor switches I only need to know if the Uplink is Up, the Uplink ist fiber, mostly, so use an LLD-rule to get only the fiber ports OID is '.1.3.6.1.4.1.1991.1.1.3.3.5.1.9' or the Utilisation of this port, you can get this information directly from the device, OID is .1.3.6.1.4.1.1991.1.1.3.3.1.1.46/ .1.3.6.1.4.1.1991.1.1.3.3.1.1.47 (ingoing/outgoing)
And please PLEASE use for every interface an application, its much better to read in latest data. I would suggest that you only use 'Template SNMP Interfaces SNMPv2' for 'unknown' swtiches, for the rest use massively the specific MIB
