This is my first post at this community and I am not an English speaker so I am sorry for my rude English and my mistakes.

When I was monitoring my own environment I got limited at web monitoring, specially when we're talking about a REST interface.

Nowadays, more and more web applications use REST interfaces to communicate each others and could be interesting to have a way to execute GET, HEAD, POST and PUT operations without having to use system.run and curl from agent item type.

what do I propose? I propose a way to monitor the information that can be obtained from a REST API defining a new Item type: Rest Item Type. This type would let to monitor and execute operation over a REST API.

Of course, this Item Type needs some configuration regarding with certificates, Operations, options, etc...

If this option can be considered or you want me to write a developed idea here, just reply the Issue and I will write the full idea trying to explain the need and why is this important. Also could give information about the parameterization and needs this item type will have.
