Currently it appears to be impossible to simply replace Template X with Template Y on all the hosts that were using Template X.

Use case: We have been working on a completely new template which uses the same item keys, but retrieves its data form master elements. By doing so, we were able to test it on a few hosts before we apply it to all of them.

Right now, in order to do this:

1. Go to hosts, filter on "Template X"
2. Select all hosts and execute "Mass Update"
3. In a different tab, delete and clear "Template X"
4. Back to the old tab, on the "Templates" tab add "Template Y" to bulk-add this template
5. The template X has been replaced with Template Y.

Is this something that can be improved in the interface?
