Now Zabbix offers two types of maintenance windows: with data collection and without. Both of these methods have their advantages and disadvantages.
With data collection: advantage - during the entire maintenance window Zabbix continue to retrieve metrics of items; after the completion of the work I can make sure that the service is working until the end of the maintenance window. Disadvantage - after completing the maintenance window all problems lose the maintenance window label, the availability report does not take into account the maintenance window.
Without data collection: advantage - reporting is more correct. Disadvantage - during the maintenance window after the completion of the work it is impossible to evaluate the service, because no data is collected.

It seems to me a good idea if, when working with the maintenance windows, Zabbix used the advantages of both types. Information about the maintenance window was saved after it was completed, displayed in problems after they were completed and was taken into account in the reporting.
