After using Zabbix for few months now (which I love sooo much), I started to believe that calculated items are only OK/justified for those who want to create a calculated item from many items. But... I am still also willing to be able to put items used for calculated items in another tab as items used for calculations are annoying when seen in the same location as other items. I can't say I don't want to see them in the latest data tab, because it will be impossible to see what's happening, or their actual values.

Another example for the annoyances of calculated items, ifHighSpeed results are not usable because for a 10Gbps interface the value is 10,000, so I had to create a calculated item just for the sake of multiplying the yielded value by 1,000,000. I was really keen on multiplying the resulting value within the item itself instead of having to create a calculated item just to multiply by 1,000,000. I think it is really necessary to be able to use formulas inside items, really save us a lot of unnecessary items and is more tidy when working with items.
