At the moment there is a hard limit of 2GB on the HistoryCacheSize,HistoryIndexCacheSize,TrendCacheSize configuration parameters.

In large installations for 10K plus NVPS this cache does not take long to fill up if there is an underlying reason as to why so i.e:

      • Zabbix configuration issues
      • Database performance issues
      • Database server patching or major upgrades
      • SAN storage issues
      • Network connectivity issues
      • Etc...

We currently compile the server / proxy with larger cache sizes to allow us more time to fix the underlying reason before the caches fill up and causes further issues; and prefer at least delayed values than none at all.

We are running on a server with 32GB ram and have the capacity to utilise, however unless we compile the source we cant make use of it.

Can the maximum cache sizes be increased to 32GB allowing people to configure what they require for memory capacity they have.

After all if they set it to big the server wont start anyway with memory allocation errors etc...
