Hello,
My understanding is the the Frontend as part of the /etc/zabbix/web/zabbix.conf.php settings polls the Zabbix server based on these setting to display an alert if the Zabbix Server is down:
$ZBX_SERVER = 'localhost';
$ZBX_SERVER_PORT = '10051';
$ZBX_SERVER_NAME = 'WXYZ.local';
In our deployment the Frontend of in a DMZ with only MySQL/TCP:3306 allowed through to the Zabbix server, as a result we receive the message saying the server is down when it is not.
It would be useful to have the option to disable this test, perhaps: $ZBX_SERVER_PROBE = 'true/false';
Thanks!
Sean
