Would be useful feature if upon a non-responsive proxy host the server would push the affected hosts of that proxy to the other subset of proxies configured. Additionally the ability to lock a host to a proxy for FW permission reasons.
Result of a failed proxy would be an automated response from zabbix server to redistribute the affected hosts between the available proxies in a given list. Proxies are sometimes zoned to different network segments, so the ability to specify other proxies it can be balanced against would be useful in the event of a proxy failure.
I understand that HA can be used in this instance, but the ability to specify the proxies can be balanced against( automated LB of hosts to proxies within zabbix) as well as offering an additional failover path.
Currently load balancing can be achieved via the API, but this has the affect of also requiring to re-configure zabbix proxies so they are monitoring themselves. A means of locking hosts to a proxy, and the system being able to load balance from a list of available would be useful tool, and add to the functionality and options available for automatic failovers and recovery within the system.
