Just like how pre-processing recently received the "Replace" function, I would like to propose the same functionality for macro functions.

Use case that prompted this request:
I want to escape '#' character in {ITEM.VALUE} so that it won't be misinterpreted as Markdown when I send the item value into WebEx Teams via script.

Current workaround:
I use the Replace pre-processing step. Only issue with that is it's unnecessary (I don't want the item value changed in DB, just changed when going out to WebEx Teams) and doesn't read as nicely when viewing the item history within Zabbix.

I'm sure there are also stronger cases to be made, but this happened to be my current one. I invite others to contribute their use cases in the comments as well.
