It would be nice to have an additional interface type for all hosts which represents whether the device is network connectable and corresponds to the icmpping* simple checks.

The reason being is sometimes the only thing you have monitored on the host is an ICMP ping to make sure it is network connectable (i.e. some random network connected device).

In this case it is not a ZBX,SNMP,JMX or IPMI and would just be a ICMP.

This way the host availability can be determined easily and not be 'unknown' because the interface type has no items really ZBX,SNMP,JMX or IPMI.
