In preprocessing we already have "Change per second" which needs the previous value, previous value time of arrival, current time and current value for the calculation. Some items have very irregular upload intervals. For some hosts they arrive once a minute, for others once a day. When they don't arrive in their normal interval this could be an error. With a nodata trigger this can be fixed but with a poor default value.

When we can use a dependent item that stores the seconds since last (or previous) item we can use this to make the nodata trigger more aware of the expected arrivals. For that it would be very convenient to have this as a new preprocessing option.

An other option could be to play with api calls but I think this could be cleaner in the preprocessor as a dedicated option.
