    • Type: Change Request
    • Resolution: Fixed
    • Priority: Major
    • 2.1.8
    • Affects Version/s: None
    • Environment:
Zabbix 1.6.4, and scientific atlanta SNMP daemon (satelite receiver)

The SA (Scientific Atlanta) sat receiver returns the BER (Bit Error Rate) values in scientific format, which is a pretty common format for floats, but zabbix is unablet o understand in, whereas the underlying postgres DB could handle it just fine. I haven't found any workarounds so far to be able to monitor the BER value.

The error message is: Type of received value [0.00e-8] is not suitable for value type [Numeric (float)]

(Sidenote: could we got some function to be able to define triggers on the exponent please?)
