Feature Request:

Ability to use items similar to triggers in maps.

Purpose (in my case):

Create maps for switches and use the interface items (up/down) to indicate whether a switch port is connected or not (similar to how triggers can be used).

In my case I've used black and green images attempting to indicate whether a port is up or down. This works with triggers, but only when a trigger fires, which doesn't happen until a port changes (goes up or down).
