Maintenance periods can be used for two cases being:

      • Type (1) Specific host in maintenance i.e. specify no tags
      • Type (2) Specific host triggers in maintenance i.e. specify tags

When a host is included in a maintenance period of type (1) and it is active there is a 'yellow spanner' next to the host in the host list which makes sense as the complete host is in maintenance.

When a host is included in a maintenance period of type (2) and it is active there is a 'yellow spanner' next to the host in the host list which does not make sense (kindof) as only specific triggers are in maintenance for that host and not the complete host.

Would it be a better for cases where the maintenance period is of type (2) to have a 'yellow spanner' next to the trigger in the host triggers list view rather than next to the host in the the host list view?

In addition you could have a 'yellow spanner' next to the triggers count in the host list which would indicate some triggers are in maintenance, in which you could then list the affected triggers in the host triggers list view.

This would mean the end user would be able to tell whether a complete host is in maintenance or just specific triggers, along with the ability to see which specific triggers are in maintenance.

Along with this in the Problems view you would have a spanner next to the host if it was in maintenance period of type (1) and a spanner next to the problem if is was in maintenance period of type (2) etc....

Another thing I have noted is that a host and/or trigger may be in maintenance due to several maintenance periods, yet only one is shown and in the database there is only room for one in a column to store the maintenance period.

This may result in an incorrect maintenance period displayed when hovering over the yellow spanner in cases where you may have two maintenance periods of type (2) with different tags defined and the maintenance period in the host list view does not contain the tags for the trigger.

I have attached some photos, but if further clarrification is needed I will provide.
