Currently, a maintenance window allows to:

• Skip notifications.
• Skip notifications and do not collect data (to save disk space)

When skipping notifications, events are still generated in the database.

There should be another option to create a maintenance window that (sort of) disables all triggers that match the host groups or tags.
As a result, no noise is generated in the database.

A use case can be:
A daily server restart during the night, where we sometimes do not care about any alerts made during the maintenance hour.
