Host prototypes in discovery rules in Azure by HTTP contain these static prefixes in their names:
- Azure Cosmos DB
- Azure Microsoft SQL database
- Azure MySQL server
- Azure PostgreSQL server
- Azure virtual machine
I believe, these are OOB for demonstration/differentiation purposes, but in real use they are quite long / redundant. I believe, they could be configurable by new user macros, e.g.:
- {$AZURE.COSMOS.DB.NAME.PREFIX}
- {$AZURE.MSSQL.DB.NAME.PREFIX}
- {$AZURE.MYSQL.DB.NAME.PREFIX}
- {$AZURE.PGSQL.DB.NAME.PREFIX}
- {$AZURE.VM.NAME.PREFIX}
Their users can then set them to empty strings or anything according to their naming standards, and stay aligned also with new versions of this OOB template.
