It would be helpful to be able to create recurring maintenance periods in specific time zones, especially UTC.

I have a situation where alerts need to be silenced daily while a cron job runs.  The cron job is scheduled based on UTC, but the Zabbix server uses a local time zone (which has daylight savings time).  This means that Zabbix sees the job running at two different times throughout the year.  The current workaround is to silence the alerts for an extra hour to compensate, but that's not ideal.

Having the option to tell Zabbix what time zone to use for a maintenance period would resolve this issue.  I imagine that could get complicated to implement in general, so at the very least it would be helpful to be able to select UTC as an option to avoid daylight savings issues.
