With version 7.0 of Zabbix, you made all widgets available for templated dashboards, which is great. However, widgets on templated dashboards are restricted to the host the template is attached to; all host selections features (by host group or tag) are removed.

While this might seem logical at first glance, it actually is not.

Take, for example, the VMware templates. It would be logical to enhance them with template dashboards, and the template dashboard for the vCenter should give an overview of the state of the whole vSphere infrastructure. Such as, for example, placing a honeycomb widget displaying the state of the attached ESXi-servers.

Only, with the current restrictions, it cannot be done, because the template dashboard is artificially restricted to displaying only data from the vCenter host. (I cannot even work around this by adding ESXI-status items to the vCenter host, as the honeycomb widget also currently cannot display items created by LLD, but that is another feature request that has already been posted.)

There are actually widget types that are rendered practically worthless on template dashboards, such as the host navigator and the honeycomb.

So please, make the widgets on template dashboards behave the same way as on standard dashboards.
