Since 7.0, the Item history (ex Plain text) widget has been very useful for displaying log files. However, the most convenient way to monitor log files on screen is when the last line is at the bottom, so the scroll position should always be moved to the bottom after reload in such cases. Please change this behaviour if New values == Bottom.
