      I'd like to be able to use a variable, to populate hosts/patterns in charts...
      allow me to explain...

      I have a customer, who has 50+ sites. Occasionally, we get alarms on network latency, or packet-loss.. and need to quickly view if it's a single-device, multiple devices, vpn or wan related.  Now zabbix will get us there within a minute or two... but evidencing that to suppliers is a difficult negotiation. As the phrase goes "a picture tells 1000 words".. and our dashboards.. like this, shows clearly the state-of-play, that a supplier cannot argue against.

      I threw this picture together...

      I'd like to:

      • add a variable to the page, as an additional property held by the page-id.
           eg: {$VAR1}="01"
      • use the variable in the page-name
           eg: "MC{VAR1}
      • use the varibale inside graphs on that page:
          eg: dataset#1 host pattern= mc{var1}-fw*

      This could then mean, i literally copy/paste a page that someone spent time building for a single site, and we just update the property/variable on each page - all the charts then update automatically, per-page.

      Let me know if i need to be a little more descriptive, or raise this request somewhere else please.
