 Description   

Steps to reproduce:

  1. On a brand new ESXI virtual machine, configured per documentation, boot to the install CD begins the installation
  2. Much waiting with minor failure messages about rmdir missing
  3. More waiting with no feedback
  4. Finally see a prompt to "exit"  due to failure installing  open-vm-tools due to missing libfuse.so.2

Note that I had to use the Install CD  instead of the provided  OVA, as it does not correctly import into ESXI 6.7 - and that probably deserves its own issue.

Why you didn't try image for ESXI instead of installation CD?
