duplicates ZBXNEXT-452 Recovery message should not be sent b... Closed

 Description

ZBX-1527 was closed (won't fix) as a duplicate of ZBX-431, which was closed as fixed. But the issue is not fixed, or it has resurfaced. If you create an Action, and enable "Recovery Message" and change the Recovery Subject to anything different from the Default Subject, then the Recovery Subject is ignored. The Default Subject is used for both PROBLEM and OK / Recovery alerts. That's a bug.

Do you have an condition "Trigger value=PROBLEM" specified ?

FYI ZBXNEXT-452, but I'm as its author still don't agree that it "fixed".

Why did somebody say this issue duplicates ZBXNEXT-452? This is not related.

Comment by Edward Harvey [ 2013 Apr 07 ]

Before reporting this issue here, I removed the trigger value=problem condition. When my trigger goes from PROBLEM to OK, yes I get email. That's not the problem.

The problem is: The "OK" email uses the wrong email template.

Please see attached screen shot.

Edward, yeah, the ZBXNEXT-452 from a first look is not duplicate/similar, but actually it's the same.

Problem (IMO) is that zabbix frontend is not intuitively clear what is what regarding recovery message.

Recovery's message template will be used for OK events ONLY if you have "trigger value=problem" condition specified.

Is this obvious? -> No at all!
I'm agree with you.

That's why I still don't agree that the ZBXNEXT-452 has been actually "fixed".

I believe it can be closed. Feel free to reopen.
