duplicates ZBXNEXT-1967 resolving {HOST.*} macros in graph name Open

 Description

When creating template graphs it would really helpful to be able to use macros like HOST.HOST or HOSTNAME to add name of the host to graph name for reference.

Right now only workaround i found is by using {{HOSTNAME}:sysName.last(0)} which adds values that I Zabbix gets over SNMP from device which is not enough in my case because I would like to display hostname that I configured on device when adding it to Zabbix.

Take a look to changes for 2.4 done in ZBX-6675

I guess we may close this issue as duplicate of ZBXNEXT-1813

btw, strange that you ask for the macro support as you talk about graphs inherited from a template.

In such a case it's supposed to have items on a graph from a single host and in this case the graph should contain hostname as prefix of the graph name, even after 2.4.

I'm still closing this issue.
Feel free to reopen you are not agree that this is duplicate of ZBXNEXT-1813.

Well, I am guessing I did not explain it right way.
Lets say I want to create template for radio device and graph its RX/TX parameters. What I would like to have is a graph with name like lets say Signal "Name of the device". By using Signal {{HOSTNAME}:sysName.last(0)} I get sort of solution, but instead of SNMP host name I would like to display Zabbix hostname that is stored in HOST.HOST. So basically I am just asking to extend graph names to support HOST.HOST.
I basically want this because with implementation of ZBXNEXT-2185 I can get quick search of graph names which is way faster then selecting first host and then graph.

If you would call this feature request as "Support HOST.* macros in graph names" - that would be absolutely clear.

But if take into account ZBX-6675 I mentioned and if ask yourself - how to expand the macros if I'll use items from several hosts? - I don't have a good answer.

Maybe it could be supported as it was previously working before 2.4 - expand macros from a host of first added (or first manually sorted?) item on the graph.

It's probably duplicate of ZBXNEXT-1967 for sure.

Closing, again
